How to Care for Your Holster Sandals

How to Care for Your Holster Sandals

A good sandal deserves proper care. Not because it requires a lot of effort, quite the opposite, but because a few minutes of attention can make the difference between a sandal that lasts one summer and one that returns year after year. Holster sandals are made to last, and with the right care, they will.

Daily Care

The good news is that Holster sandals are made from EVA foam and PVC mesh materials, which are naturally odorless, water-resistant, and easy to maintain. Daily care requires very little effort.

After a day at the beach or by the pool, rinse your sandals briefly with lukewarm water to remove sand, salt, and chlorine. Then let them dry at room temperature in the air, not in direct sunlight. This is all you need to keep them fresh every day.

Do you wear your sandals regularly in the city or on warmer days? A quick wipe with a damp cloth after use keeps the material clean and fresh without turning it into a routine.

H2 – Cleaning by Material

EVA foam sole and body

Most Holster models, including the Pointbreak, Offshore, Levitate, and Cloudnine, are largely made of EVA foam. This material is easy to clean with mild soapy water and a soft cloth or brush. Work in circular motions over the surface, rinse well with lukewarm water, and let the sandal air dry.

Many EVA models are also machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle. Do not spin dry and let the sandals dry flat at room temperature.

PVC mesh upper

Models with a PVC mesh upper, such as the Laze, Soleseeker, and Chill, are especially easy to clean. The mesh does not hold dirt easily and dries quickly after contact with water. Use mild soapy water and a soft brush to gently clean the mesh. Rinse well and let air dry. These models are generally cold machine washable, but always check the specific care instructions on the product page.

Straps and finishes

Adjustable straps, as found on the Sundreamer, Skyhigh, and Coastal, are made of EVA or plastic and require no special care. A wipe with a damp cloth is sufficient to remove any dirt. Check the straps occasionally for firmness and adjust if necessary.

What to Avoid

Holster sandals are durable, but certain habits can unnecessarily shorten their lifespan. Here are the things you should avoid.

Direct sunlight while drying. EVA foam reacts to intense heat. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or leaving your sandals on a hot car floor or patio tile can cause shrinking or deformation. Always let your sandals dry in the shade or at room temperature.

High temperatures. The same rule applies to washing machines and dryers: always wash on cold and use a short, gentle program. Never use a tumble dryer; heat will permanently damage the material.

Harsh cleaning agents. Bleach, solvents, and abrasive cleaners can damage the material and fade the color. Mild soapy water or a gentle shoe cleaner is all you need.

Prolonged contact with harsh chemicals. Sunscreen, insect repellent, and other chemical products can cause stains or discoloration on EVA foam with prolonged contact. Always rinse your sandals after exposure to such products.

With a little attention at the right times, your Holster sandals will stay fresh and well-cared-for season after season, just as they are meant to be.
